We visited Mission San Luis Rey, near Oceanside.

A wonderful dinner before our evening at the Pageant.

The restaurant had great natural areas. Here members of the Springfield Travel Club pose for a picture. Notice how accidentally color coordinated they are.

The Getty Museum's architecture is outstanding from every angle.

San Francisco Floral Delight

July 27th was beautiful in San Francisco as we celebrated floral design at Flora Grubb nursery. Flora Grubb herself (yes that's her real name) spoke to us about garden solutions for small spaces, like the vertical garden at left.

Here's a repurposes Edsel automobile now serving as a giant planter.
Lunch was at the wonderful Delancy Street Restaurant, part of Delancy Street Foundation, the largest self-help residential organization for people who have hit bottom to completely rebuild their lives. The people there are so passionate and tell their stories so honestly that we were all touched to support such an excellent organization. I highly recommend the restaurant.
Our last stop was at Golden Gate Park's Conservatory of Flowers which was hosting a special exhibit based on the book Wicked Plants: Botanical Rogues & Assassins, a New York Times Bestseller.
