Picnic at Indian Canyons

We were a relaxed group along the trail, helping each other up and down steps. At least 6 80-somethings made the loop - and rewarded themselves with our nice picnic luncheon.
Lynne Zuckerman joined us for the trip.

A few of us were pooped after the walk.

Rocky, the Ranger, joined us to speak about uses of palm trees and other native plants.

Palm Springs Day 4

Hiking the Indian Canyons
It was a beautiful day, sunny but not hot. I'm sure we were there in the morning.

We walked along the spring-fed stream and back along a ridge.

We even saw the first cactus in bloom

Thursday, February 25th Palm Springs

Indian Canyons

An absolute must do is hiking Andreas Indian Canyons. A beautiful oasis of palm trees with a stream running through.

We started at the visitor center for a movie on canyon legends and a talk from the ranger about how they had to kick out the skinheads who lived in the canyons in the 1980s and remove the graffiti from the rocks.

Day 3 Palm Springs

Thris trip was all about relaxation and choice. Four night at the same hotel, one block off Palm Canyon Drive. Our activities included the wonderful Living Desert nature area, with its wildlife show, the option to visit the Palm Springs Air Museum, and dinner at Sherman's Deli.

Many people took time to swim and relax around the pool or to shop along Palm Canyon Drive.

Of course the day's highlight was the Palm Springs Follies. They just keep getting better and better!

Palm Springs Days 1 & 3, February 22nd & 23rd

Days 1 & 2, City Tour & tram to Mt. San Jacinto

We took the tram up Mt. San Jacinto. From nice 70 something degree weather we ascended to the snow. Al & Lilly Kite enjoyed the tram ride up.

The only complaint was the unexperienced bartender at the top, although I understand lots of our travelers had lots of advice for the poor guy.

Another of the day's highlight was our tour with Ed Hartman, who has lived in Palm Springs for more than 40 years. He and Frank Sinatra have the same birthday and one year were both celebrating at Lord Fletcher's. Traveler Janine Whaley was a waitress at Lord Fletchers when she lived in Palm Springs during the 1960s and remembered servind Jack Lemmon and all the gang.

India trip

The group visited the Taj Mahal at both sunrise and sunset for a complete experience.
Christine & Diana were very popular with Indian teenage girls who all wanted pictures with them.

Our group traveled the local waterways
